Michael Locksley got to be a soccer dad again when his daughter transferred to Maryland

As the head football coach, Michael Locksley has control over his schedule, so some Thursdays this fall, his weekly radio show starts an hour earlier than usual. Locksley sits on a stage in Looney’s Pub discussing his team until around 6:50 p.m., and then he’s on his way. He hops onto a golf cart with his assistant, who weaves through Maryland’s campus on a one-mile trip that passes the football stadium en route to the soccer field.

It’s all coordinated so Locksley can make it to the women’s soccer game in time for its 7 p.m. start, and he has to pause for the national anthem as he walks into the facility. Read More
