How does the WNBA follow the historic 25th season?

The WNBA’s 25th season was marked by celebrations, the launch of the Commissioner’s Cup and ‘‘The W25,’’ a collection of 25 of the greatest and most influential players in the league’s history.

Fans voted Diana Taurasi as the GOAT, and that honor was announced before Game 1 of the WNBA Finals, which featured the fifth and sixth seed playing each other for the first time under that playoff format.
